1. General Information

We treat personal data confidentially and in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations (GDPR, DSG).
This website serves exclusively to provide information about the HISTONETICA research project.

For statistical analysis of website usage, we use the privacy-friendly open-source analytics tool Matomo. It operates without cookies and with anonymised IP addresses.

2. Server Logs

When accessing this website, our hosting provider automatically collects and stores the following information transmitted by your browser:

  • anonymised IP address

  • date and time of access

  • browser type and browser version

  • operating system used

  • referrer URL

This data is stored for security reasons (e.g. to investigate cases of misuse) and is automatically deleted after a maximum of 30 days.
The data is not merged with other data sources.

3. Contact

If you contact us by e-mail, the personal data you provide will be stored exclusively for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.

This data will not be passed on without your explicit consent.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling enquiries).

4. Web Analytics with Matomo

This website uses Matomo, a privacy-friendly open-source web analytics software operated on our own server.

  • Matomo does not use cookies.

  • IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

  • Data is not passed on to third parties.

Data processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest), as it serves the statistical analysis of usage as well as the technical and content-related improvement of this website.

5. Cookies and External Services

This website does not use cookies.
No external tracking services (e.g. Google Analytics), no external fonts (e.g. Google Fonts), and no embedded third-party services (e.g. YouTube) are used.

6. Your Rights

At any time, you have the right to:

  • access your personal data processed by us (Article 15 GDPR)

  • rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Article 16 GDPR)

  • erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”, Article 17 GDPR)
